I don't like it at all.
The postings are smaller and it's not so easy to look through everyone's comments.
And I don't like reading from bottom to top either...

OK, so I do nothing, but what happens to the Quote function?
Somebody quotes half of what I said in their comment, and sends that around the world.
I am not happy about it.
Apart from that, I too prefer the old screen format.
Please keep Proz.com as we know and love it!

Christine took the words right out of my mouth!
Okay, I just saw the explanation: you can't be quoted, so your posting can't be forwarded to someone's Facebook (or whatever) page. But I still am not happy: quoting saves a huge amount of time, and makes it possible for people who come late to a thread not to have to read every post but to be able to see comments have hit a nerve or have been a point of consensus.

Starting with: "What's on your mind?" Am I at the school counsellor's office? Followed by: "Like" What kind of English is that, MySpace-English for teens?
I do miss the "Quote" feature, and I can't view the previous pages. I can't tell how many colleagues have replied, I cannot track the poll.
All I see is: "Share!" with nearly 50 social networking sites that have nothing to do with professional translation. | | | Nicole Schnell Spojené státy americké Local time: 15:44 angličtina -> němčina + ... In memoriam With Christine | Jan 30, 2010 |

I wondered why there was no number next to "Discuss" as we used to have, so today clicked on Discuss out of interest, only to see that there were comments, (but fewer than normal), but in this new format. I really don't like it at all. As other have said, what was the matter with the current system? This new feature is currently available in the quick poll system.
I wondered about that change, where and why, and so on. It is unreadable mess, I can't see how to quote people, and the posting also appears to transit through a third party, unless I'm much mistaken. Hope they're not based in Ukraine Anyway, it's rubbish.

IMO it is rather reckless to use any third-party. On the other hand, I don't like ProZ 'postponed' forum either) So, the more *if's* not related to the site/Administration itself, the less reliable such system is...

I've been meaning to submit a support request since the weekend as I thought there was a bug on the Quick Poll page. Mystery solved, I suppose.
Like others, I find the new interface very unfriendly and hard to read. Plus, the pictures are all distorted (poor George on today's QP!).
Proz.com is a site for linguists and I feel that the new interface is giving things like Twitter the upper edge, which really should not be our priority here.

With the risk of sounding like a fuddy-duddy, I much preferred the old format.

In addition to the valid comments other colleagues have already made as regards format and readability, I don't see the point in registering with a third party to be able to use the quick poll forum of "our" ProZ. Things were fine the way they were! | |

I don't believe so. I may have been critical, blunt and unflattering, but it was all directed towards an inanimate lump of software, not towards a sentient human being. But I'm willing to launch a thorough investigation, undertake a comprehensive review and issue a public apology if indeed I have been impolite to an actual living person, rather than, say, not been particularly polite about the consequences of a decision such an individual may have made, which is a very different thing. So let me know where there has been a manners malfunction, and I'll act accordingly
Interesting to hear that there is a "vendor" involved, not just some ill-received in-house tweaking. Does this mean that we are bound to get something along these lines anyway, 'cos the money's been spent and the contracts signed, or can this decision be reversed if, say, we all boycotted poll comments for a month... | | | Sophie Dzhygir Francie Local time: 00:44 němčina -> francouzština + ...
