So far many nonverbal clues/body language had been studied in order to detect liars. Now here's a different approach on how people use sentence patterns, pronouns and other general language patterns in lying. Interesting findings...

That might be good for the police. Nov 16, 2014

Other that, just ask people if they are lying--no use guessing, because someone may guess wrong.

If guesses may be wrong and you say this video is about guessing, how can it then be useful for the police?

Pointless. Liars aren't known for their honesty.

Exactly. I guess that's why they're called liars.

Some liars can even cheat the polygraph, Nov 16, 2014

so there is really no way to find out is something is a lie or not just by listening what someone says, or how they say it. The police may have more experience than ordinary people, but even they err sometimes.

Plus, using such methods in ordinary life might be an invasion of privacy.

And if they say, "yes, I'm lying", can you believe them?

That is right.

Some liars are extremely sensitive and they could even take you to court for asking them such an intrusive question.

So if you lie most of the time you should better watch your language
