Any suggestion about what I can do with a company which has not paid me and refuses to answer any e-mails?

You can report their paying style on BB or contact Debt collectors, if you think it's worth it.
Good luck. | | |

What do you know about the company? Do they pay anyone else? Do they have any money? What country are they in? Are they a legitimate client and not a scam?

I can only repeat the above and add:
- How/when have you tried to contact them?
- How much (very roughly - e.g. nn, nnn, nnnn euros) is the debt?
- Have you been paid by them before?
- When did you send the invoice?
- What were the T&C?
- Did they acknowledge receipt of your work?
- Are they still in business, or have they filed for bankruptcy?

Thank you all for your replies.
Is one open to litigation if the name of the company is mentioned?
It is based in London and is currently in business.
It's a small debt, but it's the principle that is at stake.
Perhaps I need to read the terms and conditions.
But surely a reply to my e-mails is a basic right?

Padraic,
Please do not name the company here - the Blue Board is the place for such things.
I wish you luck in getting your invoice sorted out.

Payment is a basic right too, but sometimes we have to fight for our rights. Between those two countries all you need do is prepare a European Payment Order. I prepared one once and saved it as a PDF. I sent it to my client, mentioning my planned date for submitting it to the court. He paid immediately.
But you have to send a final demand by registered post first and get the proof of delivery/rejection as that constitutes proof that the client knew about the debt and didn't pay.

I have seen a pdf of the application form for this order. I have a question, how does one choose a court? The name of the court has to be entered on the form.
Thanks
