I am having a bit of an issue between myself and a project manager I
hired for a job through ProZ.

I hired said PM for a job over a pdf file containing many figures
and graphics. I asked the PM to translate only what should be translated, translating tables
and graphs if needed but if not needed, to either copy the images of the graphs or to

I am having a bit of an issue between myself and a project manager I
hired for a job through ProZ.

I hired said PM for a job over a pdf file containing many figures
and graphics. I asked the PM to translate only what should be translated, translating tables
and graphs if needed but if not needed, to either copy the images of the graphs or to
simple type [extract image] and we would do it internally.

We settled on the use of a target word count as source word count was impossible to settle over due to the nature of the file due to the parts that did not need translating

PM sent me his job promptly and of quality, no argument there. He decided to copy the images of the formulas and graphs in the file.

Then comes the times for invoicing. And there, PM argues there are
5192 words in the target count, were upon analysis, I see only 2452 at max (using
most CAT tools - I used MemoQ, Trados Studio 2011, Wordfast PRO, AnyCount, simple Word
analysis, all give me 2452 as maximum target word count.

Now, I am not one to judge and am most certainly willing to pay for one's job. Problem is, if I don't see it, I can't justify it. PM claims it is because of numbers, tables and charts. I did everything I could to circumvent these problems (transforming numbers into letters, supressing the formatting, tables and charts while keeping content...) wordcount stays the same.

Would some of you please be willing to provide me a target wordcount counting the charts and other parts, numbers etc. for the file I would send you upon receipt of your email so that we can settle this matter for good with the PM ?
