Over the years the only recognition I have been looking for is from my customers through repeat work; but, of course, it's wonderful to receive appreciation from my peers when it happens. It warms my heart!

Peer recognition is also meaningful, especially in a field like translation where quality is often invisible to end users. When a colleague recognizes the craft and care that went into a translation, that acknowledgment carries real weight.

Public acknowledgment through things like author credits or translator profiles on published works would be a wonderful form of professional recognition that, unfortunately, remains rare in our field.
