I haven’t been looking for new clients for some time as usually clients find me. Anyway, I’m approaching the end of my professional career (quicker than I would have guessed, thanks to the “technological advances”)…

I retired some years ago and am very glad I don't need to 'go looking' for clients in the AI-infested world we live in today.

Definetly Proz isn't helping Jan 26

Well, with this AI rising and major role of Asian Agencies is making things worse. And Proz has now no role, because these agencies only looking for lowest to lowest prices. Thus finding client with this rate focusing market is too tough now. If any could have any good opportunity to leave Translation Industry they must.

Freelance platforms! Jan 26

I have found most of my clients online in freelance platforms, or they have contacted me directly by phone or email. So, I am really positive to receive requests from potential clients these days, but I hope that most of them are not scammers. Finger crossed!

A mix of platforms, past clients, and word of mouth. I don’t chase much anymore. With all the AI noise, clients who want real understanding usually end up finding a human translator anyway.

An idea? Feb 1

I have an idea. As a translator i could contact local sites on the internet and offer them translation. I would probably start within the region, not from other side of the world. Would it be a good idea?
