OK, I'm sharing the fact that I do not understand this question. I can only guess what the phrase 'wrapped' recap means. A web search suggests it may have something to do with Spotify, which I have never used and never intend to use.

Once again a ProZ poll question breaks new linguistic boundaries. Or maybe it's just me.

With the utmost respect as always, Philip, isn’t it our job to keep up with the latest fads?

You are right in your assumption. I’ve had Spotify, Wordle and Strava wrapped so far. Lidl and Tesco will be next.

When they first opened a Sainsbury’s in Lampeter (previously a Kwiksave, so can you imagine the excitement?), they had a similar thing without a silly name, and in the first year I got a virtual crown for buying more Gouda than anyone else. My finest moment.

I would not mind Dec 22, 2025

I would not mind seeing a ProZ.com wrapped recap that highlights Forum posts, KudoZ answers, etc. Is that what you're planning?

It's like a summary of your activity on a given platform. I'm was trying to set up Google Photos' recap... it wants me to enable "Group similar faces" in the app. YouTube has one too, at https://www.youtube.com/recap, but it is utterly uninteresting (there's supposed to be one in the app, under the You tab, but I don't have a You tab in my Youtube app).

Unwrapped recaps Dec 22, 2025

No, but several colleagues have posted recaps of their business progress on platforms such as LinkedIn. I mean, they don't post a summary of their LinkedIn activity -- they post a summary of how much work they did this year, how many new clients they got this year, etc.

Well, it’s almost a wrap for 2025! Let’s hope 2026 will be better than 2025…

Yes, I do! Dec 22, 2025

I have received my year-end recaps on platforms, such as my Spotify, YouTube, and LinkedIn. I really love them, specially the Spotify one. Likewise, I also received my YT channel recap recently by email, and the LinkedIn recap was interesting because you could realize what person you chat most, and I also noticed that most people got the same catalyst badge, which was funny and disappointing at the same time. But life continues!!

It's just another way to see a glimpse of the data AI tech/social media companies have captured of every profile/person during 2025.

The "recap" is sort of a 2025 catalog of the new information they have added about the users. So you are aware of the new data they will use in 2026 for clickbait advertising, among other "services."

Well it seems that's what they're doing. When I logged in this morning I was offered a "rating", which turned out to be a 'recap' of my activities on ProZ.

This consisted solely of an announcement that I had made 105 forum posts. (That's two per week - I would have expected it to be more.) Nothing else. And specifically, no jobs won through ProZ in 2025.

Apparently, this qualifies as "A year of growth, connections, and achievements".

As I was now clearly in part of the new site (snowflakes and all), I took the opportunity of inspecting my profile under the new design. To my surprise, I found that I can deliver both consecutive and simultaneous interpreting in my language pair. Also voiceover. For some reason, these services are not shown on my old ProZ profile - perhaps because I do not offer them.

Apart from that, the text encoding has been set incorrectly in the "Keywords" section, so that the Greek language items, which should be in UTF-8, appear as apparently random symbols: αγγειοπλαστική στεφανιαίων

In my old profile these items display correctly (αγγειοπλαστική στεφανιαίων).

So any prospective client who has the misfortune to visit my "new" ProZ profile page will find that some of the important and relevant information on display is either incorrect or unintelligible.

My new profile page also chides me that "Philip Lees is not a part of any communities" and suggests that I should "Join communities to connect with fellow professionals". The first "community" suggested is Women in Translation (WIT). I wonder if they'll have me. Won't the beard be a giveaway, Samuel?

Well let's set that all aside and enjoy the holiday season. My very best wishes for Christmas and the New Year to all my friends and colleagues on ProZ.
