The AI series is not finished yet... | | | | Lieven Malaise Belgie Local time: 07:36 Člen (2020) francouzština -> nizozemština + ...
It depends on what is understood under "AI related services". I offer machine translation editing and I don't care about the machine translation source (DeepL, other similar systems, ChatGPT and the like...) as long as it is delivered in a CAT file.
But I stay far away from all the nonsensical AI related job offers that have nothing to do with translation or MTPE. | | | | IrinaN (X) Spojené státy americké Local time: 00:36 angličtina -> ruština + ...
A complete silence treatment could do the trick... but then again, if someone immersed in AI wants to answer, who am I to push for any prohibitive measures?
But I can set an example:-) AI trolls are good at provoking at least some kind of answer. So, this was my last sentence typed to discuss anything showing AI in the title or text body.

Maybe ... the right question would be: who is not yet?
One way or another - wake me up when some AI-free poll question pops up.

They just approve and publish the polls. I'm pretty sure these AI polls come all from the same site member, who probably is doing LOLs each time they read exasperated comments. | | | | SafeTex Francie Local time: 07:36 francouzština -> angličtina + ... | AI is clearly here to stay | Dec 6, 2025 |

Well, those who answered "fully prepared", "somewhat prepared" or "in development" outnumber those who answered "not prepared at all", so I wonder why you think that all the AI polls come from the same site member. | | | | Daryo Local time: 06:36 srbština -> angličtina + ... | No doubts about is! Sure it is! Only ...
You do know this old saying about the most splendid theories being smashed to bits by annoying little facts? One of the basic tenets of how science works, in case you're wondering what I'm on about.
Like how in theory AI should be a gift bestowed from the lofty heights of Mount Olympus on mere humans - and what it really is NOW?
Given that NO ONE knows what turn the development of AI is going to take, I'm truly amazed that there are so many clairvoyants who do know already they'll be ready for an unknown future!
Another version of the same:
the car is also here to stay, but if someone offered me a 'shiny all-singing, all-dancing latest model' and it turned out that the thing is in the habit of randomly deciding on its own to go off tangent and wander in the fields instead of staying on the road, my boring univentive reaction would be: 'Thank you very much, but for now I'll stick to more reliable models'. | | | | | Vive la résistance! | Dec 6, 2025 |
I’m still in full resistance mode. I will not use it.
I’ve gone full Luddite. Even email is too hi-tech for me now. On Monday I start temping as a postman.

Yes, @Zea, I fully agree with you.
IMHO, the current state of AI is completely unreliable and much more hype than anything close to productive. One only needs to see KudoZ translations made with AI to see they are truly disastrous, at least in Spanish.
Then, it's just the initial stage of development, but I'm not sure how long this stage is going to last. It could be years, or until the banks that own the debts of the top 5 AI tech companies decide to collect. | | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: What's your current level of readiness to offer AI related services? | Draftsmith | Edit Translations Faster With Affordable AI You Can Trust
