I read the original when there are'nt any good translations (i.e. English history) available, but I do believe in nurturing my own language and keeping up with it's changes, so I read a lot of translated books. | | | | Liena V. Lotyšsko Local time: 11:28 Člen (2014) francouzština -> lotyština + ...
It used to be the opposite, but now almost everything I read outside work is translated. There are 2 reasons for that:
1. I read books written in languages I do not know (from the most recent ones I can remember it has been Icelandic, Finnish, Danish, Italian, Armenian, Ukrainian, Belorussian, Polish, Czech, Estonian, Lithuanian...)
2. Even when I could read the original, I still prefer good translations. It helps me to turn off the "work mode" and stay in touch with my own la... See more It used to be the opposite, but now almost everything I read outside work is translated. There are 2 reasons for that:
