I haven’t the faintest idea. Anyway, I’m not on social media (professionally or otherwise). I’ve been on LinkedIn for a few years but I’ve never completed my profile. I’ve left TC last year and the only forums I take part in are on Proz…

My Facebook profile is private, so no-one can see my posts except friends or sometimes friends of friends. I try to ensure that I post only SFW content on my LinkedIn profile. (I sometimes delete a post on LinkedIn if I sense that it's getting the wrong type of attention, or if a night's sleep convinced me that it is not uplifting enough.) Obviously ProZ.com's forum has an archive of over 13000 posts of mine, which I can't do anything about. So far, I have behaved mostly professionally on this forum (-: I have profiles on Twitter, BlueSky, Instagram, etc. etc. but they're mostly empty and unused. If you know how to use Google in combination with the Wayback Machine, you can find some awful content that I posted in my youth. My posts on various public mailing lists and Usenet news sometimes show up in search results as well, and the earlier the date of the posting, the more cringeworthy they are.
A single post or thread can create a very wrong impression about a person. I have, on occasion, participated in online debates, also on controversial topics, but what I wrote in those posts do not represent how I currently feel. I try to be mindful of this when I google the names of colleagues and find terrible stuff that they have written.
