Does anyone here translate cryptocurrency/blockchain-related texts on a regular or occasional basis? If so, in what language combinations and in what genre (white papers, blog posts, websites, etc)? Did you find that it was your regular finance/tech clients who offered cryptocurrency-related work, or have you been translating for new clients who work specifically in that area?

I have a strong personal interest in crypto and a decent background on the subject, so I'm curious about other people's experience translating in the field! I am aware that Proz is running a webinar on the topic in February.

Yes, I do - German to English (UK) Dec 28, 2017

Hello Emma!

I work from German into English (UK), with one of my specialisms being insurance/financial texts. I've been taking on a fair few pieces on cryptocurrencies recently (ranging from press releases to e-books), but interestingly they've all been coming from one of my larger agency clients as opposed to direct clients in the financial/legal sectors. Thanks for your reply! Yes, I have a feeling that the vast majority of work in crypto translation is going to be EN>anything else. I'm interested to hear that there's at least some text flowing the other direction...
