Dear colleagues,

Fisrt of all please kindly excuse if this issue is too basic.

I understand that there is a tool to import translation units so that they are "scanned" in order to find out errors such as:

400V - 1 ph (target segment)
instead of
400V - 3 ph (source segment)

This is quite a wonderful tool as it detects errors made because the translator is tired or just absent minded.

I've found a screenshot in German:

"Übersetzungseinheiten importieren"
it detects "verdächtig" - suspect tranlations/transcriptions.

Is there anybody who can tell me more about this ?

e.g.
Is the TM file "scanned" ? Is the open document scanned?

and HOW ?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Best Regards
Maria

it's a basic QA feature Feb 20, 2009

many CAT tools can validate the translation units. for instance, they check the figures in Source and Target...

SDL TRADOS QA Checker Feb 21, 2009

If you have Trados and work with .ttx files you can use the integrated powerful SDL TRADOS QA Checker plug-in. It needs to be activated in Tag Editor via Tools > Plug-ins > SDL TRADOS QA Checker. To define what to check for, click the Properties button.
