I will play it by ear. Lately there has been a lot of pressure from my regular clients to lower rates. So far, I haven't given in. But I do recognize that my rates are higher than average. If I get desperate, I may reconsider.

Already gone up Feb 27, 2017

I've already raised my prices.

My costs, experience and expertise increase each year, and so do my prices.

There's absolutely no reason for that to change.

As Jennifer Aniston would say, "Because I'm worth it."

It's important to defer to the wisdom of people with nice hair in matters of financial planning.

Yes, sort of Feb 27, 2017

But I am getting more work from existing clients at higher rates and new clients who pay even better.
I ought to add that I am pushing for higher rates when I negotiate with new clients.

This is not part of a master plan nor a conscious effort to raise my rates. More like a natural progression "If you build it, they will come." kind of thing.

Funny, I thought Jennifer Aniston had a Telly Savalas haircut in The Break-Up.

For new clients, I have Feb 27, 2017

For my 70-80-odd existing clients (some go back more than 15 years), I'll try, but...

USD vs. BRL Feb 27, 2017

My rate in USD for clients in Europe and North America shall remain the same. But the rates in BRL for Brazilian clients must be readjusted on a yearly basis. Either that or not having local clients. No alternative.
