Yes Aug 27, 2016

I have a degree in Russian, but but rarely get to use it, so it's very rusty.

The only languages that we should learn Aug 27, 2016

The escandinavian languages and the oriental idiomas are those who have less translator for other major languages.
I am doing a course for Chinese and starting another for Swedish.
If you want to learn Portuguese choose a native from Portugal.

Yes - many! Aug 27, 2016

My priorities would be Norwegian, French, and Japanese, in that order.

- I'm half Norwegian. I've visited my cousins in Norway numerous times and I always feel bad that I can't follow their conversations. Also, knowing my father's language would bring me closer to my roots and help me know and understand the person he was.
- I studied French for 4 years, but it's very rusty.
- I also studied Japanese but didn't get very far.

Having lived in Belgium for 30 years, I do regret not having learned the other two national languages, but as we all know time is not elastic! Though I translate exclusively into European Portuguese, I speak and write fluently English and French (my main source languages) and understand Spanish and Italian (my other source languages)… I’d rather keep on learning these two: Is it better to be a jack of all trades, or to pursue mastery?

I have Bulgarian and Romanian as source languages, but I cannot say i SPEAK them fluently, especially Romanian - it exists on paper for me. I would like to improve it, but there is never enough time!

I often wish I understood my dog (an Italian pointer) better. I think I do a pretty good job, but I get the feeling that I could often do better.

I would love for my German to be better - I graduated in it twenty-plus years ago, but have never really used it. i would love to know Danish, and Finnish.

In another life, perhaps!

for the moment.
I understand a heck of lot, but speaking and pronouncing the words - ouch!

And yes, if I had all the time of the world, I do recon it is worthwhile learning Chinese and Russian.

Turkish Aug 27, 2016

I'm interested in learning how to speak Turkish. Just because this language sounds cool, is not similar to any of our working languages, and since Turkey has interesting people.

I haven't started to learn it yet, but I will definitely learn this language and speak it fluently (otherwise is not possible)! This is one of my plans waiting to be realized in a very near future!
I just love how it sounds!!!!!

My mom's side is French, and never considered it seriously, until I came to live in Europe. Now, I think about it all the time! I was in France twice since 2015 so the next step is "how" ?

And when! I think in early 2017!!
