A colleague has asked me to post the following query: 'A client has insisted I use Trados for a translation assignment and send him a TM file back. Now I prefer to use Deja Vu, for obvious reasons, and so have successfully created my translation using Deja Vu and would like to export the contents of the TM into a format that will allow my client to reimport it into Trados. Now I prefer to use Deja Vu, for obvious reasons, and so have successfully created my translation using Deja Vu and would like to export the contents of the TM into a format that will allow my client to reimport it into Trados. I have done this before, but now cannot quite remember how to do this. I have consulted the help files in Deja Vu (using the F1 key), but have not been able to understand what to do. I have also consulted the downloadable documentation from www.atril.com but my version of Deja Vu does not appear to be the same as Deja Vu X, judging from the screen shots shown in these downloadable user manuals. 1. Create the project in Trados. To create a project in Trados, please go to my previous message here. 2. Import the Trados file in Déjà vu 3. Translate the file in Déjà vu 4. Export the Trados File 5. Clean the file in Trados while adding the segments to a Trados TM that you can create on the fly Marcus

Do your translation in DV as usual. When you are done, create a new DV memory, link the new memory to the project and send all.
