Is paypal fees fixed for each payment or it depends on the amount of the received money?

Hi,

I hope you all are doing well!

I don't have experience with paypal, and I have two questions regarding it.

1- Is paypal fees fixed for each payment or it depends on the amount of the received money?
2- When a client ask me about my paypal address, should I just write the email that I have registered with or anything else required?

1. PayPal charges vary slightly from person to person, but it's about 5% of the amount transferred. There is no upper maximum to the fee, so if you're getting e.g. USD 1000 then the PayPal fee is about USD 50. Your own bank may also charge a fee when you withdraw money from PayPal.

2. Yes, just give the client the e-mail address that you use to log in to PayPal.

Most of my non-EU customers have been paying me thorough Transferwise (now called Wise) and they say it’s cheaper and quicker than PayPal.

You are totally right. some of my clients also are paying me through Transferwise! It's really quick and doesn't charge much fees as Paypal. On the other hand, other clients prefer Paypal and see it the best method of paying ever!

As PayPal has been around for 20 years is more popular but in my opinion is far from being better and it’s not cheaper nor quicker…
