We are preparing a quote for a medical device manufacturer and are looking for qualified linguists for the Instructions for Use (IFU) of a CE-marked medical device.

Job details

Source: English, approx. 1,250 words
Target languages: Czech, Danish, German, Spanish, Finnish, French, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Slovak, Swedish
Content: Medical device IFU, including warnings, precautions, handling and storage instructions. The text must meet EU MDR requirements.
Services, which may be assigned separately:
Translation from English
Revision of an existing translation against the English source (bilingual review, tracked changes, short comment on any significant issues)
In each language, translation and revision will be done by different linguists.

Tools
The work is done in our web-based CAT platform. No license or installation is needed, and a short onboarding is provided.

Requirements

Native speaker of the target language
Proven experience translating medical device documentation (IFUs, labelling, user manuals). Please describe relevant projects briefly.
Qualifications in line with ISO 17100 (relevant degree, or equivalent professional experience)
Willingness to sign an NDA

Timeline
The project will start as soon as we have enough translators to provide a quote and it gets accepted. The source file will be shared after the NDA is signed.

This is a potential job. Assignment depends on the client accepting our quote. If it goes ahead, there will likely be small recurring updates.
