The examples provided below illustrate the rules for using the XYZ logotype in a variety of situations.
1. The logotype in its original color on a white background.
2. The colored logotype on a colored background remains unchanged. In the event of a dark color, the baseline may be switched to white (the blue is used only as an example, it represents any color other than black, white or yellow).
3. When the logotype is used on a black background, the baseline is switched to white.
4. The B&W logotype on a white background.
5. On a yellow background, the XYZ letters stay the same color as the background.
6. When the B&W logotype is used on a very dark or black background, it is completely ******reversed out**** in white.

Polygrafický slovník mi definuje sloveso "reverse out" jako "to make a black image appear as white out of black or out of a colour; the white area may then be filled with another colour".
