Zdrojový text - čeština V kostele bývalého benediktinského opatství Kastl v Horní Falci se nachází trojice soch zakladatelů ze třetí čtvrtiny 14. století.
V době vzniku těchto soch se Kastl nacházel v bezprostřední blízkosti jižní hranice tzv. Nových Čech, které Karel IV. 5. dubna 1355, přivtělil ke Koruně království českého.
Ke spojení nové země s lucemburským rodem a Českým královstvím došlo záhy i v symbolické rovině, když Karel IV. obnovil dávno zaniklý titul hrabě ze Sulzbachu a propůjčil jej svému synovi, od roku 1363 českému králi Václavovi.
Zakladatelský rod hrabat ze Sulzbachu, Kastlu a Habsbergu byl spřízněn se třemi císařskými dynastiemi, což by konvenovalo ambicím Karla IV.
Mezi dobrodince kláštera patřil také jeho předchůdce na říšském trůně, Ludvík Bavor.
Sochy zakladatelů tak mohly představovat vizualizaci Václavova nároku na sulcbašské hrabství, k němuž v minulosti patřila fundátorská práva, a zároveň v duchu středověké spekulativní genealogie poukazovat na jeho spřízněnost se starobylými říšskými vladařskými rody.
Překlad - angličtina The church in the former Benedictine monastery of Kastl Abbey, located in the Upper Palatinate, houses a trio of statues of its founders from the third quarter of the fourteenth century.
At the time of the origination of the statues, Kastl was situated in immediate proximity to the southern border of the so-called New Bohemia, which was annexed to the Lands of the Bohemian Crown by Charles IV on 5 April 1355.
Soon thereafter, the joining of a new land ruled by the Luxembourg Dynasty and the Kingdom of Bohemia was symbolically reinforced when Charles IV renewed the long vanished title of Duke of Sulzbach and bestowed it on his son Wenceslas who became the King of Bohemia in 1363.
The founding family of the Dukes of Sulzbach, Kastl, and Habsberg was kin to three imperial dynasties, which would be a convenient circumstance for the ambitions of Charles IV.
Among the benefactors of the abbey was his predecessor on the imperial throne, Louis the Bavarian.
Therefore, the statues of the founders may have represented the visualization of Wenceslas’ claim to the Dukedom of Sulzbach that had been granted the founding rights in the past; by the same token it may refer to his kinship to ancient imperial dynasties in accordance with speculative genealogy typical of the Middle Ages.

Rozvojové země a nově vznikající ekonomiky nebyly součástí systému finančního kapitalismu. Vyšší vrstvy samozřejmě využívaly příležitosti nového systému za účelem dodatečného zisku, ale ekonomiky chudých zemí nebyly adekvátně integrovány do globálního finančního systému a ani neměly prostředky na to, aby tu obrovskou hazardní hru mohly hrát. [...] Pro velké spekulanty ze severu nejsou dost zajímavé.
Země „chudého jihu“ byly už tak postiženy liberalizací a deregulací finančních trhů v období úvěrové krize, která vypukla v roce 1984, když Brazílie a Mexiko vyhlásily insolvenci. Skupina asi čtyřiceti vysoce zadlužených chudých zemí (HIPC) se dodnes, tj. po více než dvaceti pěti letech, nevzpamatovala. To dokazuje, že následky finanční krize mohou postihnout celou generaci. [...]
Ani nově vznikající ekonomiky se v podstatě nezapojily do tohoto systému. Nicméně se díky následkům globalizace staly terčem pro spekulativní obchodní modely ze severu, tj. do té míry, do které byly jejich finanční trhy liberalizovány a deregulovány, jako například v souvislosti s obchody carry trade. Čína, největší hráč mezi nově se vyvíjejícími ekonomikami, své finanční trhy neliberalizovala. Indie stále zachovala mnohá omezení a některé další země do určité míry dokonce snížily úroveň otevřenosti v důsledku zkušeností s asijskou krizí a další země, například Malajsie, dokonce zavedly opatření pro kontrolu nad kapitálem.
Na základě této zkušenosti se až do bankrotu společnosti Lehman Brothers i mezi neortodoxními ekonomy probíraly hypotézy o oddělení nově vznikajících ekonomik a rozvojových zemí. Na jaře roku 2008 bývalý hlavní ekonom UNCTAD Akyüz napsal: „Poprvé v moderní historii se však naděje upíná především na rozvojové země, obzvláště v Asii, za účelem udržení stability a růstu světové ekonomiky“ (Akyüz 2008). Enormní tempo růstu, kterého dosáhly některé země v Africe, Asii a Jižní Americe od roku 2003, bylo zapříčiněno především exportním boomem komodit a zdálo se být nezávislým na vývoji na finančních trzích. Nicméně tento předpoklad musel být jistě mylný, vezmeme-li v úvahu mnohé úzké vztahy v rámci globalizované ekonomiky. V rámci globalizace není nyní možné uvalit karanténu na krizi v jednom regionu a uchránit tak od krize zbytek světa.
Hlavní směr, který nabrala infekce, jež ohrozila nově vznikající ekonomiky a rozvojové země, byl skrze reálnou ekonomiku, především obchod. Pokles poptávky v průmyslových zemích v důsledku krize ukončil exportní boom. Pak následoval kolaps kapitálových toků a přímých zahraničních investic. Nemůžeme tedy hovořit o oddělení ekonomik. Země „chudého jihu“ musí nést následky zapříčiněné ostatními zeměmi. Nejhůře postiženými jsou tedy už tak znevýhodnění a chudí lidé na okraji společnosti. Cílem rozvojových cílů tisíciletí (MDGs) je snížit chudobu o polovinu do roku 2015, tj. během pouhých pěti let, což je samo o sobě příliš ambiciózní a nedosažitelný cíl.
Krize zasáhla především chudé rozvojové země v situaci, kde na základě rozmachu díky přírodním zdrojům v uplynulých letech, vznikla naděje, že konečně po mnoha ztracených desetiletích nastane výrazný úspěch a dojde ke zmírnění bídy a chudoby. Vzhledem pěti až šesti procentnímu tempu růstu se zdálo, že existují vyhlídky na zlepšení dokonce pro region Subsaharské Afriky, který je sužován extrémními problémy. Tato naděje se však rozplynula.

The developing countries and emerging economies were not involved in the system of financial capitalism. Of course, the upper classes of course used the opportunities in the new system for additional profit but the economies of the poor countries were neither adequately integrated into the global financial system nor did they have the means to play in the giant gambling hall. [...] They are not interesting enough for the large speculators in the North.
The South already suffered liberalisation and deregulation on the financial markets in the debt crisis that broke out in 1984 when Brazil and Mexico declared insolvency. Even today, the group of about 40 Highly Indebted Poor Countries (HIPCs) has still not recovered, more than 25 years later. This shows that the consequences of a financial crisis can be suffered over a whole generation. [...]
Even the emerging economies were hardly involved in the system. However, they were targeted by speculative business models from the North because of the effects of globalisation, i.e. as far as their financial markets had been liberalized and deregulated, for instance in Carry Trade. China, the largest player among the emerging countries, did not liberalize its financial markets. India also still retained many restrictions and a number of other countries even reversed the level of openness to some extent as a result of their experience with the Asian Crisis and, for example, countries such as Malaysia even introduced capital controls.
Against this background, there was talk of a hypothesis even among heterodox economists of an uncoupling of emerging economies and developing countries until the Lehman bankruptcy. In Spring 2008, Akyüz, former UNCTAD chief economist, wrote: „However, for the first time in modern history, hopes seem to be largely pinned on developing countries, particularly in Asia, for sustaining stability and growth in the world economy“ (Akyüz 2008). The enormous growth rates that were achieved since 2003 in some countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America, which mainly were due to an export boom in commodities, seemed to be independent of developments on the financial markets. However, this assumption had to be an illusion, considering the numerous and close interdependencies in the globalized economy. Under the conditions of globalisation it is now impossible to put a crisis in one region under quarantine and protect the rest of the world from the crisis.
The main route taken by the infection that affected the emerging economies and developing countries was through the real economy, mainly trade. The decline in demand in the industrialized countries due to the crisis put an end to the export boom. Then the collapse of capital flows and the decline in foreign direct investment followed. There can be no talk of decoupling. The South has to suffer the consequences caused by others. Those that are worst affected are the already disadvantaged, the poor and the socially marginalized. The aim of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to reduce poverty by half by 2015 – i.e. within only five years – which is already too unambitious, is unattainable.
The crisis is mainly hitting the poor developing countries in a situation where, because of the resources boom of recent years, hope had emerged that finally, after many lost decades, some substantial developing successes would appear and misery and poverty could be reversed. Even for the region of Sub-Sahara Africa with its extreme problems there seemed to be some perspective of amelioration due to growth rates of five to six percent. These hopes have now been shattered.
