My alignment workflow in Trados Studio is:
(1) In the Welcome screen, select "Align files"
(2) Specify a TM and the source and target files to be aligned
(3) Wait up to an hour for Trados Studio to try to auto-align the files
(4) Select "Disconnect all" because the results are terrible
(5) Align the files manually
(6) Import the aligned segments into the TM
Is there a way to save time by skipping Step (3)?

prepare files before aligning them

Hello John,
I don't know if it is possible.
Can you clean instead the source and target files before you align them in Studio, in order to have a better result after step 3?

It doesn't matter how clean the files are. Even if you align a pair of longer files that you have already translated with Trados, it would takes ages for Trados to align them. And there is no option to skip auto-aligning.

Even if there is a workaround, I think RWS are those who can tell. I suggest... See more
