I have a Degree in Modern Languages and Literature – English and German studies from the New University of Lisbon and I am a Portuguese native speaker. During my Licenciate’s Degree I attended Hamburg University in Germany for two semesters as a participant of the Erasmus Programme provided by the European Community, which largely contributed to the development of my skills in that language and also to deepen my knowledge of the German culture itself. Furthermore I have a Post-graduation in English and German studies.

As regards my work experience for the last eight years I have followed teaching as my main profession, although I also have extensive experience as a translator. In this role, I have as major translations:
- "The Charlie Brown’s Dictionary", an English/Portuguese and Portuguese/English dictionary for children, published by the Portuguese newspaper Público;
- "The Canterbury Tales", by Geoffrey Chaucer, which was published by the Portuguese newspaper Diário de Notícias;
- "Women Empowerment for Active Citizenship", a project from AMI-Assistência Médica Internacional (International Medical Assistance), a Portuguese Non-Governmental Organisation;
- "Peer relations among young teenagers", an article in the area of Psychology and Sociology.
Adding to this, from 2001 up to the present time I have done innumerous translations in the fields of Chemistry, Metallurgy, Machinery and Tools, Law, Pedagogy, Psychology and Sociology.

At the present time I am translating "Autograph", a mathematics software for teachers and students.

I am able to work on my own iniciative to tight deadlines and I am very attentive to detail. I feel that my knowledge, commitment and responsibility would be an asset in this role.
