I know this means short and it's a term of endearment. In this text it refers to Salma Hayek. But I can't seem to put it into American English.

petite
"Shorty" is good, but depending how it is used, it can be despective rather than endearing (I know, being under 5'8 through high school...!)
This is another option.

: Not all shorties are petite. "Chaparrita" means "short" but not necessarily "petite".

Sorry, I don't know Hayek myself. But Harper Collins defines "petite" as follows: 2. a category of clothing sized for women or girls of less than average height and with average or diminutive figures. 4. a woman or girl who wears clothing of such a size.

: Petite may be more feminine than shortie, but it doesn't have the same connotations as chaparrita. Petite is more like menudita.

It would seem you would be more of an expert in the feminine than myself... ;)

: this is the term I see in mailorder catalogs, for short women, whether they are "menuditas" or not.

I`m looking for something a little more feminine, if possible. |

shorty
En español se le dice chaparrita a la mujer de baja estatura, es un termino cariñoso, de la misma manera que lo es shorty en ingles

petite
You don't provide any CONTEXT, but if you can work it in, "petite" would be a better word to describe her.

small in stature; shorty
Since you are talking about Salma Hayek, who I think is just a dynamo despite her size, I would say the "queen of the shorties" or a "showhottie"(short hottie for show").
In Black urban communities, a "shorty" is a woman who is short in stature but like an hourglass has sands in all the right places.
