Scrap is a term used to describe the recycling of metal. Old, unwanted metal such as old vehicles are taken to a Scrapyard, where they are processed for later melting into new products.

Since last June, the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec has offered the vehicle discarding service online.
From now on, a vehicle owner who wants to permanently retire a car, motorcycle or any other type of road vehicle from use can quickly and easily register their vehicle as “discarded” via the Internet.

Din câte ştiu eu şi conform DEX, \"casare\" înseamnă doar \"scoatere din uz\" şi nimic mai mult, ceea ce s-ar traduce prin \"discarding\" (vezi linkuri mai sus):
