agree  marionclarion: Power strip i s what the Sansoni Collins dictionaary has - but I've always call it an "adaptor" eg 3way-adaptor, 5-plug-adaptor, surge-proof adaptor (for the PC) etcetc

I would agree with most of the suggestions already made, but none have made reference to the fact that it is actually on an extension lead, and does not plug into the socket directly as a three-way adaptor can.
