transfer of shares
shares are 'alienated' from their holder, in essence meaning that they are transferred to another person/entity, hence "alienated" from previous holder

Comment: "I went for 'transfer' in the end. It just SOUNDED better. But it seems that 'alienation' is also used for the transfer of shares, so Triada, Angeliki and Dave are ALL right."

: I'd go with alienation. I have a strong feeling I know the case Julian is working on, and the 'alienation of shares' would be done in order to take them out of the court's jurisdiction.
