German term

Entsender

German to English Bus/Financial Human Resources
Eine gesonderte
Übernahme von damit verbundenen Kosten durch den Entsender ist jedoch nicht
vorgesehen.

This is from a Austrian document discussing company policy for employees sent on long-term assignments abroad. Throughout this document, they use "Entsender," "Entsendung," "Entsandte," etc.

I looked at the glossary. I started out just saying "the poster," but that doesn't sound so good to me. (They are wanting BE.)

I was wondering what you would say.

Company?
Employer?
Something else?

It gets a little more complicated in that they also use other terms in the document like:

Dienstgeber
Beschaeftiger

which might seem to be mere synonyms, but I'm ultimately not sure that they are simply talking about the same company, but maybe trying to differentiate between the company in Austria and affiliated companies abroad or even divisions within companies.

Thanks.

Discussion

Ulrike Kraemer Jun 5, 2006:
or the Entsender isn't clear from the context you have provided.
Ulrike Kraemer Jun 5, 2006:
Sorry, I overlooked that. From your context, Beschäftiger seems to be the employer abroad, whereas the Entsender is the domestic company that sends (or assigns) employees to work with the Beschäftiger abroad. Whether Dienstgeber means the Beschäftiger
Ron Stelter (asker) Jun 5, 2006:
Little Balu Actually, it's Beschäftiger, not Beschäftigter. They aren't the same, right?
Ron Stelter (asker) Jun 5, 2006:
Passages like this seem to make it more confusing Die Weiterverrechnung der beim Entsender entstandenen Kosten an den Beschäftiger
im Ausland erfolgt auf Basis von Verträgen, die zwischen dem Auftraggeber (=
Beschäftiger im Ausland) und Auftragnehmer (= Entsender) abgeschlossen werden.
