French term

capteur matriciel photonique

French to English Tech/Engineering Patents mesure spatio-colorimétr
Hi again,

Dispositif de mesure spatio-colorimétrique dans lequel les deux moyens de détection comportent des élémentes de filtration associés à au moins un capteur matriciels photoniques

I have found that capteur photonique= photonic sensor, but when I tried to include "matrix" I didn't get any entries, does anyone know how I could translate it?

Thank you :)

matrix photo-sensor

I'm not at all sure that 'photonic' is actually necessary; it does, however, seem to be used a lot in patents, but I can't really see if there is any actual difference between photo-sensor and photonic sensor?

Peer comment(s):

agree chris collister : The matrix bit distinguishes the sensor from say scanning satellite sensors which are linear arrays of cells. "Photonic" is very popular in FR, but in EN is generally taken to be a combination of "photo" and "electronic"
