This is the description of what a "facing" is, translated from French:

http://www.coupecouture.fr/2007/03/parement_ou_parementure.h...

A facing is a piece of fabric that is sewn along the edge of a garment and folded backwards (to be invisible) or upwards (to be decorative).
It has exactly the same shape as the piece to be edged and therefore fits perfectly around the edge.
It can be made from the same fabric as the garment or from lining (if the fabric is too thick).

French: parementure
German: Besätz

Thank you.

A köv. videó első fele mutatja a szegőpánt készítését: formára szabott pánt, kifordítva. https://www.k3sewingstudioblog.com/hasznos/nyakkor-
