| Thanks for the suggestions PC, I also use रोगी or मरीज़ in medical studies, but this was not for a medical study. I feel प्रयोगवस्तु sounds like an item, not a person. |

: I feel that even on cosent form, 'patient' term is not used therfore 'rogi' is not suitable, it is not specific.

Arun, thanks for your observation. If the text relates to medical field,there is no harm in using patient as the sponsors test the efficacy of a new medicine on the patients suffering from a particular disease. Hence, we can use "patient" also.
