Gardening / Teichbepflanzung
In der Mitgliederzeitschrift der Royal Horticulrual Society (RHS) "The Garden", August 2020, S. 88 heißt es in einem Leserbrief:
"I am surprised when visiting gardens with a pond that I have not seen arum or water lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica) used as a marginal plant. In my small pond, positioned with at least 25cm of ***water above the crown***, it proved to be a magnificent specimen ..."

The crown of the water lily plant is the cluster of shoots where the stems and leaves grow from the rhizome/tuber/roots, it can usually be found at the soil level.
https://www.walliscreekwatergarden.com.au/faq/
The rhizome should be planted at one edge of the container with the rhizome planted at an angle of about 45 degrees with the crown exposed.

Place the tuber at a 45° angle with the non-growing end against the side of the pot and the crown(where the leaves come out) towards the middle of the pot.

The leaves of infected lilies will turn yellow and then break away from crown, which gradually blackens and eventually becomes foul-smelling;

What Is the Plant Crown?
The crown is the place where the plant stem meets the roots, the point where the energy and nutrients from the roots are transferred to the stems and then to the beautiful flowers that are your gardening reward.

Discussion
„root crown or crown root is part of the plant which links root and shoot system”
https://socratic.org/questions/what-is-a-crown-root-in-plant...
Zantedeschia aethiopica, commonly known as calla lily and arum lily, is a species in the family Araceae, native to southern Africa in Lesotho, South Africa, and Swaziland.[1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zantedeschia_aethiopica
