Freelance Traditional and Simplified Chinese Formatter

In order to meet the translation needs of our international clients, we are currently looking to expand our database of Freelance Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese Formatters.



Job Description

In this job, you will collaborate with our Project Managers to work and complete File-Preparation/Formatting projects.

Responsible for the recreation or conversion of PDF documents into Microsoft Word for the preflight process to prepare for translation
Fix formatting on translated documents using the Microsoft Office packages, Adobe Creative Cloud and similar formats
Provide technical support on DTP matters through the editing of graphics and charts using Adobe Creative Cloud and other software
Prepare various file formats and technologies for translation using Computer Aided Translation tools
Develop a thorough understanding of leading, tracking, paragraph/character styles and fonts


Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent
Knowledge of a foreign language
Knowledge of Computer Aided Translation tools
Experience using Formatting tools (Indesign, etc.)
Proficient in Mac and PC applications
Some knowledge of web programming languages a plus (HTML, XML, ASP, JSP)
Must possess a strong attention to detail
Prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to maintain professionalism in all situations under tight deadlines
