Update – April 19, 2025: the scam is still active Apr 19

Unfortunately, as of today (April 19, 2025), I can confirm that this scam is still making the rounds. In my case, I was also contacted through Upwork, and the person posing as the “Project Manager” now goes by the name Melodie Langevin.
The method remains the same: a too-good-to-be-true freelance translation offer, an attached contract promising $70 per translated page (with no prior testing), and a request for personal information and payment methods like PayPal or QuickPay before any... See more

Nowadays, the scammers are dime a dozen, and the only way to ward them off is to stay wary and be updated on their new methods and the tips and tricks as they make use of every trick in the book and any shenanigans to advance their filthy business.
