My translation work which began in 1969 involves primarily biology, medicine, and life sciences, and most welcome are also subject related to my interest in horses, dogs, woodcraft and scouting. Other translations included legal and general subjects and documents as well as some poetry and art related work.
I have received my doctorate in Vertebrate Zoology (5 year study with concurrent Chemistry Major) from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, in 1959 and followed it with a Post-doctoral Fellowship, (1970-72) at the University of Manitoba, Canada.
Subsequently I have been employed in various capacities in the environmental field.
In 2000 I retired from the position of Senior Scientist after 24 years with the Manitoba government in the provincial Department of Environment (later Conservation) and have since continued translating on a near full-time basis.
