I'm originally from New Zealand but have lived in Taiwan (2.5 years), Brazil (10 years), France (2 years), Czechia (1 year) and Argentina (1 year). I studied Chinese at Tamkang University in Taipei and Spanish and French at Victoria University of Wellington. I learned Portuguese while living in Brazil, Chinese in Taiwan, Spanish in Argentina, Czech in Czechia and French in France.

I started out as a freelance translator in 2005 and worked at a large translation agency from 2006 until 2020, but have always maintained a few freelance clients. I've worked with a huge range of texts relating to numerous subject areas.
