- Démarrer le moteur avec précaution en respectant les instructions du fabricant et en maintenant les pieds éloignés de l’(des) outil(s).
- Arrêter le moteur quand la machine est sans surveillance.
- Marcher, ne jamais courir avec la machine.
- Tirer la machine vers soi ou inverser le sens de marche (si disponible) avec beaucoup de précautions.
- Conserver la distance de sécurité par rapport aux outils rotatifs, donnée par la longueur du guidon.
- Ne pas placer les mains ou les pieds près ou sous des éléments en rotation.

- vibration anormale,

- Ne pas utiliser la machine dans des pentes supérieures à 10° (17%).
- Travailler les pentes dans le sens transversal, jamais en montant ou en descendant.
- Sur les terrains pentus, bien assurer ses pas, changer de direction avec beaucoup de précautions.

The term owes its origins to the idea that a footprint is what has been left behind as a result of an individual's activities. A carbon footprint is a measure of the impact human activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of green house gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide. The total related and cumulated impact is taken into account which is considering direct emissions and also any prior process that is linked to an activity, for example the raw material extraction, energy generation, transport and also disposal/end of life processes.
The carbon footprint is always specific. In other words it is related to a product, a service or it can be per capita. The ‘Carbon Footprint’ of an EU citizen is currently 10,7t/a (source: EuroStat). In comparison the per capita footprint in South Africa is 9,2t/a, in the US: 19,4t/a and in India: 1,2t/a (sources: WRI, IMF). Scientifically this expression is incorrect as the ‘Carbon Footprint’ actually refers to emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) not to ‘carbon’(C) emissions.
Defining a Carbon Footprint
The carbon footprint can be seen as the total amount of fossil carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases (calculated as CO2) emitted over the full life cycle of a product or service. Normally a carbon footprint is usually expressed as a CO2 equivalent (in kilogrammes or tonnes).
What is the difference between fossil and biogenic CO2?
Fossil CO2 is the off-gas attributed to burning fossil fuels such as oil, coal or gas.
Biogenic CO2 is the carbon dioxide from burning renewable biomass, crops or organic waste. This emission is considered to be carbon neutral as the carbon dioxide generated is exactly the amount that was bound from atmosphere by photosynthesis.
What can be done to reduce a carbon footprint of a product?
First of all the ‘carbon footprint’ needs to be determined using a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology.
Two examples to explain why this needs to be done:
- When you use a litre of diesel or petrol in your car, the carbon footprint of this litre fuel is not only the carbon dioxide emissions that are generated by using it in your car. Carbon dioxide was emitted before already to get this litre fuel in your tank: It starts at the oil well which had to be explored, drilled. The crude oil is pumped to tankers that transport it to refineries where energy is needed and other raw materials are added to produce diesel or petrol which is then transported to the filling station which then also needs energy to operate and pump the litre of fuel finally into the tank of your car.

Ξεκινά από την πετρελαιοπηγή και τη διαδικασία ανεύρεσης και άντλησης του πετρελαίου. Το ακατέργαστο πετρέλαιο διοχετεύεται μέσα σε δεξαμενόπλοια για να μεταφερθεί στα διυλιστήρια, όπου θα καταναλωθεί ενέργεια για την επεξεργασία του και θα προστεθούν και άλλες πρώτες ύλες ώστε να παραχθεί βενζίνη ή πετρέλαιο κίνησης.
