Romanian term

Cata-ti de treaba

Mi s-a parut mai potrivit in context 'be serious' decat 'mind your business', dar acuma incep sa ma indoiesc.

Multumesc mult pt toate sugestiile Cum am vazut eu sensul expresiei in contex: fii serios, nu te mai invarti in jurul degetului, nu mai ezita.

get serious

Fii serios ar suna perefct in original. Sau n-ai ce face, etc. Traducerea insa e perfecta, da: Get serious!

stick to your last

Idioms: stick to one's last

Keep to what you know and don't interfere out of your province, as in Let me handle the defense in this suit; you stick to your last and track down more eyewitnesses. This adage comes from an ancient story about a shoemaker criticizing a work by a Greek painter named Apelles, saying that the shoe in the picture was not correctly portrayed. After the painter corrected it, the shoemaker pointed out an error in the leg, whereupon the painter said, "Shoemaker, do not go above your last." Over the centuries the story was repeated, and the expression still is sometimes put as cobbler, stick to your last, even though cobblers are nearly obsolete.

find something to do

exemplu "modern" :D

Help me find something to DO before I drive myself crazy.

I'm bored all the time and nothing seems to appeal to me anymore. I think it may be because for the last few months I've not done much of anything besides sit around at my computer, sleep, repeat. Please, help me find things to do that will get me out of the house. "Take a walk" won't do, I don't know this neighbourhood well at all but from what I've seen it's just rows of depressingly identical suburban houses. I'm so tired of wandering around aimlessly bored out of my skull, both IRL and on the Internet.

Off you go

Sigur aici nu e "mind your own business", şi nici "be serious".

HTH,

Diana

Mind your own business and ...
