softened white veined marble
The process of softening is one of the five processes in polishing marble. Please see the link I have provided.
In this case the marble is white has veins and has been softened, rather than it actually being soft marble. In fact the more veins marble has the harder it is, usually.

soft white-veined marble
Marbles are very carefully classified & named like most stones. Must be 'soft', not 'softened'. Must be 'white-veined' and not 'veined white'. I prefer a hyphen to avoid ambiguity!
This could be eg black or red marble with white veins.
The source has no hyphen so it could instead be white marble which has veins but they would normally state the colour of the veins if this were so (in both English and Portuguese). In this case rhandler's 'soft veined white marble' would be correct.

Example sentence:
Saint Theresa, the focal point of the chapel, is a soft white marble statue
