For Jacek I'd found razor clams as "cannolicchi". Does this mean they're the same thing? Thanx!

mantis prawn

Known in the Venetian dialect as "canòce" and in English as "mantis prawn" (Squilla mantis).

Try them with a glass of cooled Friulian Ribolla Gialla, or perhaps a nice Pinot Bianco (sorry, it's getting near dinner time).

Buon appetito,

Giles

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks. In fact, it's a list of wine-food pairings. Their suggestion is Tocai Breganze (alternatives: Pinot di Franciacorta or Verdicchio di Matelica). Do you agree? :) Sigh, in the landlocked region of Umbria I don't see many of "them thar thangs". Thanks to all."
