traitement symptomatique suspensif

French to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals drug type
I am translating a set of documents delivering an opinion on various drugs. This term is in the following phrase; (Name of drug) entre dans le cadre d’un traitement symptomatique suspensif. The condition in this instance is chronic plaque psoriasis.

I have found a definition of suspensif - "Effet d'un médicament qui ne dure que pendant sa prescription et disparaît a l'arrêt de celle-ci".
i.e. it "suspends" symptoms but only for as long as the drug is being taken. I am struggling to find the right translation, without giving a lengthy explanation.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks to everyone for your helpful input. I agree that "symptomatic" just about covers it. In the end I suggested 'symptomatic, non-curative".

Isn't an "effet qui ne dure que pendant la prescription" exactly what a "symptomatic" treatment does? You can probably omit "suspensif" without losing information, or you can speculate that the combination was meant to be "symptomatic supportive" which is a very common qualifier for drugs.

suspensive? Not my field, so I would not want to post an answer. However, have you considered "suspensive"? You will find quite a few hits in conjunction with "sympaoms" or "treatment".
