A riparian forest is a forested area of land adjacent to a body of water such as a river, stream, pond, lake, marshland, estuary, canal, playa or reservoir.

riverbank woodland
Riverbank is also another word for riparian, from the latin "ripa" meaning river bank, don't think, however, that a "bosco" corrisponds to "foresta" but to a woodland
