Hello,
I have suggested a Powwow in Reading, UK, on 18th September for an informal lunch get-together, possibly at Pizza Express.

I hope to find some interested souls! Any suggestions on location and/or discussion topics are more than welcome.
See you then,
Nicole

Thanks Steven, edited accordingly.
Reading, PA, would be nice too, I used to live nearby in East Stroudsburg but haven't been in that area in a long time.

But leaving joking asid, you might consider organising it a bit later, namely on the International Translators Day, which is 30th September or more close to that date
Last year we have had a quite big number of powwows round the world for this occasion.
Best regards

Thanks Jerzy! Yes, absolutely. There will be a whole week dedicated to Translator's Day with powwows and special activities (the powwow page already shows the powwows proposed in this week).
I'll make a more complete announcement soon.
You can have an idea of last year's celebration here
Everyone is invited to join and suggest ideas!

Hi Nicole,
I live in Slough, and having a Powwow in Reading would mean that I could finally manage to join one!! I also know other translators that live in the area and there could probably be some interest in having a Powwow in Reading instead of London. I think it's also a good idea to have it during the week at lunchtime (kids are at school, no need to think of childcare or force the hubby to baby-sit at the week... See more Hi Nicole,

I think it's also a good idea to have it during the week at lunchtime (kids are at school, no need to think of childcare or force the hubby to baby-sit at the weekend!). I don't know if you are going to go ahead with it for the 18th or not, but if you decide to organise it later on, please let me know.
See you,

This year, International Translator's Day coincides with Rosh Hashanah, which means that even marginally religious Jews won't be likely to attend anything held on that day.

And thus IMHO not very suitable for holding a powwow.
Would the conflict be settled, if the powwow would be organised during the weekend?

Hi All,
Since this year Translator's Day is a Tuesday, all powwows held between September 26 and October 4 will be dedicated to the celebration of Translator's Day. In this way, the organizer and the attendees can select the day that best suits their preferences.
