Even though I have been asked to provide such services in the past, my customers know know that I am not providing such services at all. Just like Iam not interested in MTPE.

Machine translation May 1

All post-editing offers I receive are machine translation-based. Which seems normal, because in my experience neural machine translation (or at least DeepL) is better/more useful than AI. Perhaps this is more a question for people working with direct customers?

For decades some of my work has been editing content produced by other translators and recently I was asked to edit every month content translated with Deepl (paid by the hour).

P.S. I don’t understand why the question says 'content produced by humans/AI' as if they were the same thing or even synonyms…

I don't work with translation agencies. My clients are direct.
Academic university/research clients sometimes ask me to translate their papers prior to submission for publication, and sometimes they draft/translate the articles themselves, no doubt using MT or, nowadays, AI to help them. Some authors are better writers than others, but I'm not noticing any uptick in obvious AI or MT use...

Repetitive tasks are becoming the real issue May 1

I’ve noticed that beyond the actual translation or revision, a significant part of the work now involves handling text across different tools, especially as current CAT workflows don’t always align well with newer AI-based processes.

It’s not necessarily complex, but it’s highly repetitive, tends to break focus and can even lead to physical fatigue over time.

I’ve been trying to simplify that part of my workflow recently, just to reduce friction in daily work.
