Hello!
My outsourcer asked me my "text control" rate per hour in the target language and I am unable to comprehend what that means.
Thank you.

Your client simply wants to know your rate for proofreading and editing.

Your rate per hour should be the same whatever the job.

I suggest you ask them directly. My initial assumption would be that this is either ordinary editing (without reference to the source text) or DTP checking (i.e. checking that the target text looks good and is not truncated anywhere).

Some types of tasks are more tiresome, however, and we don't include the period of recuperation in the period that we charge for.

Controlled language?
Sep 5, 2020
I agree with Samuel, it would be safer to ask your client. It can be your rates for post-editing or technical writing tasks/jobs. If you use a controlled language for writing technical texts (for ex., user manuals) this material will be better translated. One of the many examples of controlled language in technical writing (in my native language) would be avoiding the passive voice.
